VLC Media Player MKV Integer Overflow

Vulnerability Description:

VLC Media Player contains a vulnerability when decoding specially crafted MKV content. When decoding MKV files, a heap-based buffer overflow may occur; if successfully exploited, an attacker may remotely execute arbitrary code within the context of the currently logged on user.

Remote Code Execution This client-side vulnerability could allow an attacker to gain the ability to execute remote arbitrary code with the same permissions as the user that is currently logged in. If the user is an administrator, the attacker could install malicious software and further compromise the system.
