eEye Digital Security Acquired by BeyondTrust

Earlier this morning we announced that eEye Digital Security has agreed to be acquired by BeyondTrust, the industry’s leading provider of Privileged Identity Management (PIM) solutions. This is a very exciting milestone in the history of eEye Digital Security, a company that has long been at the forefront of security product leadership and innovative security research.

Our goal at eEye has always been to help enterprise IT and security teams run more efficiently, by providing the context and intelligence required to better protect them from the threats which have evolved so rapidly in just the last few years alone. This acquisition will help us continue that mission, by giving us the substantial resources that joining forces with BeyondTrust will provide.

The combination of eEye and BeyondTrust will combine our award-winning security intelligence with security and compliance data from the BeyondTrust –what we are positioning as “Context Aware Security Intelligence”. This integrated approach will allow our customers to better prioritize the steps required to reduce the risk within their IT infrastructure.

Many of the senior leadership team at eEye is joining BeyondTrust, including myself. Scottrade Breach: Identified by Federal Officials

Late afternoon on October 2nd, news leaked out of another large security breach, now at Scottrade. The identity count of records, in the millions again (4.6 million is the latest). This breach comes on the second day of national CyberSecurity month, the first being Experian/T-Mobile breach.
